Is "just" church enough?

I used to think statement like "It's more than just church" was a worthy goal. Now I'm not so sure. In Matthew 16 Peter makes a profound statement about who Jesus is & he responds to Peter "...on this rock I will build my church." as if the church was what Jesus wanted to build. The Church is the company of believers that Jesus is forming & anything we do as Christians should, one way or the other, be representative of that. As far as I know, that Christian Center is a real nice place & does lots of worthwhile things, but if Jesus says he's building a Church that is what we should be a part of, do we really need "more"?

More peaceful Muslim stuff

Rifqa Bary, a Christian convert whose parents are Muslim immigrants from Sri Lanka, says she fears for her life.
A 17-year old girl who fled from her home, fearing her Muslim parents would kill her for converting to Christianity, must go back to Ohio, a Florida judge ruled Tuesday.
I'm sure the daughter will be fine. Our court systems always know best & who are we to judge?

A "peaceful"religion?

A Muslim New York bicycle cabbie who last year used his Web site to mock the beheading of journalist Daniel Pearl posted a prayer calling for the murder of Jews and exhorting Muslims to “throw liquid drain cleaner in their faces." Who would be next after that? Click headline to view article.

Church of God Executive Council Conflicted

This is pretty funny. The Church of God Executive Council met for their quarterly meeting. Two items on their agenda list were particularly interesting. What happens if they approve both of them?
Here thay are:
2. That women be eligible for ordained bishop.

3. That the ordained bishop name be eliminated.
