The government is considering putting GPS systems in all cars as a way to tax you for every mile you drive no matter how fuel efficient your car is. This would also be a great way for them to know when and where you are driving all the time. All this under the guise of keeping your highways serviced. Last fall, Congress transferred $8 billion from the general treasury to the highway trust fund to make up for a shortfall between revenue and money promised to states for highway projects. Last week, Transportaion Secretary Ray LaHood said in an interview with the Associated Press that a vehicle-miles-traveled tax was an idea that should be considered to shore up the trust fund. The National Surface Transportation Infrastructure Financing Commission report recommends moving to such a tax, which would mean equipping cars and trucks with a device that uses Orwellian GPS technology to track the number of miles driven and compute the tax owed. The amount could be adjusted to charge more for travel during peak traffic hours or if you are going to one of those secret church meetings like they have in China. You would never be able to drive anywhere without them knowing it. But then we love Big Brother.

Barbara Boxer and Switzerland want to raise your kids
Once again, the U.S. is being unreasonable in not letting the rest of the world tell us how to run our lives. So says Barbara Boxer, Senator from California(where else). Boxer has made clear her intent to revive the ratification process under the Obama administration, which may be amenable to the move. During a Senate confirmation hearing last month, Boxer said she considers it "a humiliation" that the U.S. is refusing to let other countries tell us what to do, while 193 other nations have caved. The California Democrat is pushing President Barack Hussein Obama to review the U.N. Convention on the Rights of the Child, a nearly 20-year-old international agreement that says parents are too stupid to know how to raise their own kids. The convention has established a Committee on the Rights of the Child, an 18-member panel in Geneva composed of "persons of high moral character"(by whose standards?)who review the rights of children in nations that are party to the convention, obviously because they don't think anyone else has moral character.
"To the extent that an outside body, a group of unaccountable so-called experts in Switzerland have a say over how children in America should be raised, educated and disciplined -- that is an erosion of American sovereignty," said Steven Groves, a fellow at the Heritage Foundation.
"Now, all you have to do is look around the world and see these girls that are having acid thrown in their face," Boxer said in January, implying that the U.S. refusal to come aboard has made people in other countries so mad they throw acid in their daughters faces.

Global warmingists lose $280 million egg in one basket
The newfound religion of Global Warmingism suffered a serious setback as they lost a satellite sent into space for the better worshipping of "Mother Earth". The satellite immediately fell back to the ground, falling in Antartica where it was anything but warm.
AP reported: "Minutes after launch Tuesday in California, the satellite fell back to Earth near Antarctica not far from where environment ministers and scientists met Monday to talk about climate change."
At least now they are admitting that it is a religion complete with their own ministers.

Mysterious explosions in Maryville explained
The mysterious explosions heard around Blount County recently have a perfectly reasonable explanation. The sky is falling. We have heard for months now from the media & President Obama that this was coming, so why should we be surprised when it happens? Of course we don't find any evidence of it because the sky is made of air, so when it does happen more air comes in to take it's place & the air that hits the ground is invisible. I admit the noise can be a little unsettling but no real harm is done. So everyone can relax and go on about there business.

Evangelical Lutherans propose to allowing "committed" homosexual clergy to pastor churches
One of the nation's largest heretical Protestant denominations would allow homosexual clergy in "committed" relationships to pastor local churches, under a new proposal from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.
Officially, wink, wink, all unmarried clergy in the 4.9 million-member denomination must remain celibate. But since 2007, Lutheran bishops have agreed not to discipline homosexual clergy who are sexually active.
On Thursday, as Martin Luther rolled over in his grave, a Lutheran task force on human sexuality recommended that local churches and synods — the Lutheran version of a diocese — decide the deviation for themselves. I guess they're running out of things to repent from. But hey, if you've thrown that much of the Bible out, why stop there?

Epscobuddism or Buddaglican?
This is old news but I just found it & it's too good to pass up. Apparently a couple of years ago Katharine Jefferts Schori, the head bishopess of the American Anglican Church suggested merging with Buddism, stating, “The similarities between our two religions are striking” For some reason the Dali Lama didn't like the idea.

Planned parenthood invites Knoxville teens to national indoctrination conference
Some Knoxville teens involved in the the Planned Parenthood of Middle and East Tennessee FYI (Finish Your Infant) and PG-13 Players peer propaganda programs hope to attend the organization's national propaganda conference in Houston in March. They've been invited by the Young Leaders Summit to plot with other youth leaders and peer indoctrinators from affiliates across the US and to meet with Cecile Richards, president of the national organization. PPMET indicated that some local peer indoctrinators went two years ago and "it was a fabulous experience for all of them."
The cost for the trip will be approx. $2600. PPMET hopes to receive a scholarship that will cover half of it, so they are looking for evolutionists & communists to help send them by raising funds for the remaining $1300. A small price to pay to end morality as we know it. Or should I say knew it?

Gospel singer's wife/agent sets fire to church
Who knew hosting a gospel singing at church could be so dangerous? Especially if you ask the group to be accountable.

A-Rod made "a mistake"?
Admittedly, confession is a hard thing to do & even when we do confess it seems we always want to give ourselves an "out" where maybe it can appear that although we did do wrong, it's not really our fault. Take A-Rod for example. In the latest baseball doping scandal Alex Rodriguez said, "I certainly made a mistake, and I feel poorly for that," (emphasis mine). He also mentioned something about being "young and stupid." The reason for this type of confession is it appears more trivial & less sinister than saying "I chose to do wrong." By saying he made a "mistake" or he's "stupid" insinuates that he didn't know any better & if he had he wouldn't have done it. So he's really not a bad guy, he's just misinformed. This kind of deception has been going on since the beginning when Adan told God, "The woman you put here with me - she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it." (Genesis 3:12) In other words, God, you made me this stupid & you put this sly woman here to trick me so it is really your fault.
"Mistake" must be one of the most overused & misused words in Christian cultural vocabulary. The fact is each one of us has a corrupt nature and we don't want to admit it. So we claim we made a "mistake" like we missed question #6 on a math quiz or something. If we are going to be truthful with ourselves we will admit that, a very great percentage of the time, it was no mistake we made, we did wrong because we chose to do wrong. Only then can we truly come to redemption.

A peaceful religion?
"Every day on television we are barraged by stories of a 'Muslim extremist, militant, terrorist, or insurgent,'" Hassan said in the 2004 release. "But the stories that are missing are the countless stories of Muslim tolerance, progress, diversity, service and excellence that Bridges TV hopes to tell." Muzzammil Hassan said, a few years before he cut his wife's head off.

Obama's Nominees to the Justice Department hold strong anti-Christian values
David Ogden, nominated to serve as deputy attorney general, opposes restrictions on abortion and pornography, and has represented Playboy in court. Ogden filed a brief before the U.S. Supreme Court in support of child pornographer Stephen Knox, who possessed sexually explicit videos of children. Ogden argued that, because the children's genitalia were partially covered by clothing, such exploitation is protected by the First Amendment (the right to bare children?).
Thomas Perrelli, Barack Hussein Obama’s nominee to serve as associate attorney general, represented Terri Schiavo’s husband as he fought to have food and water withheld from his disabled wife.
Dawn Johnsen, who hopes to serve as assistant attorney general, is the former legal director for NARAL Pro-Choice America.

Darwin Day, Unbelievable?
Febuary twelfth was Charles Darwin's birthday (as well as Abraham Lincoln's, a curious combination) & surveys show that the evolutionist's propoganda has not caught on as well as the anti-God people would like. Of course, the evolutionists could, and do, argue that the more highly educated you are, the more likely you are to believe in evolution. Of course you could also agrue that the more brainwashed you are, the more likely you are to believe in evolution. And why do they keep calling it an elegant explanation of where we came from? What is so elegant about it? Whay do being elegant make it more believable? Shouldn't we be more interested in what is the truth?

Happy 200th Birthday Abe!
"We have been preserved these many years in peace and prosperity. We have grown in numbers, wealth and power as no other nation has grown.
But we have forgotton God. we have forgotten the gracious hand which preserved us in peace and multiplied and enriched and strengthened us. We vainly imagined in the deceitfullness of our hearts that all these blessings were produced by some superior wisdom and virtue of our own. Intoxicated with unbroken success we have become too self-sufficient to feel the necessity of redeeming and preserving grace. Too proud to pray to the God that made us. It behooves us then to humble ourselves before the offended power and to confess our national sins and pray for clemency and forgiveness."
